a recent report from the bbc

    This happened today....

Last Updated: Wednesday, 13 December 2006, 09:43 GMT

    Viagra
The health board said no-one received Viagra
Smokers trying to quit the habit were mistakenly prescribed anti-impotence drug Viagra by doctors.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said the error was due to a computer glitch at two city GP practices.

When GPs selected anti-smoking pill Zyban, computers selected sildenafil, the generic name for Viagra.

A health board spokeswoman said: "At no time was patient care affected by this as all prescriptions are subject to stringent double checking."

The e-Formulary computer system used by GPs automatically selects a list of the most popular drugs when doctors fill out prescriptions.

Some patients went to the pharmacy with a prescription for the anti-impotence drug instead of tablets to help them stop smoking.

The health board was made aware of the problem on Tuesday and alerted all its GPs to the problem.

It is not thought anyone left a chemist with the wrong medication.

A health board spokeswoman said: "A computer glitch was discovered by two Glasgow GP practices that use the Glasgow e-Formulary, following a recent update of the online GPass system used throughout Scotland.

"As a precaution an advisory e-mail and memo was issued to all practices which use GPass and have installed the e-Formulary to alert staff."

    Ebay Feedback Comments

POSITIVE: Item shipped quickly, have been having erotic dreams about seller. Thanks!
POSITIVE: Thanks for great Rainbow Brite lunchbox. Should shrunken head be inside?
NEUTRAL: Excellent communication, but should've poked holes in box before shipping the kitten. Refunded.
NEGATIVE: Despite indication in listing, I could not fit item into any of my body cavities.
NEGATIVE: Honda R-Type sticker did not add horsepower as advertised.
NEUTRAL: Item shipped promptly and in good condition, but I should not have to bid on birthday presents from my parents.
POSITIVE: I don't really remember what I ordered. But I've been sitting in the box it came in all day, and it's great!
NEGATIVE: Product didn't work, possibly broken. I woke up this morning and was disappointed to find I still believe in Jesus Christ our Savior. :(
POSITIVE: Excellent Buyer. A++++++. Thrilled by the quartz movement of the "Rolex". HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
NEGATIVE: Should have been clearer that seller only accepts payment in Bhats via Eastern Union Moneygram.
POSITIVE: Plain brown packaging seemed to fool my wife. Thanks!
    NEGATIVE: The dog won't hunt.
NEGATIVE: Very nice monkey mascot costume, but it's a size 34, not a 63 as advertised.
NEGATIVE: Lederhosen not as pink as the picture led me to believe.
POSITIVE: A+++++. Items are exactly as described. Best case of kalashnikovs I've ever bought. Allah Akbar!
NEGATIVE: This is clearly the ninth, NOT THE SIXTH, repackaging of Mad Super Special #24.
POSITIVE: One of the scents mixed in with the packing peanuts remind me of a passionate weekend in Rio... was that you?
POSITIVE: The way you wrote my zip-code makes me weak in the knees. Such smooth strokes. A+!
NEGATIVE: Though you did nothing wrong, I am giving you this negative feedback to teach you that the universe is arbitrary and unfair.
NEGATIVE: Buying this Space 1999 Lunchbox did not fill the void in my empty life for as long as I'd hoped.

    TRIATHLON

I completed my first triathlon competition!!!!
    500m swim, 21k cycle, 5km run.

I swam as fast as I could and cycled as hard and as fast as my legs and new bike would take me. I think I was in the top 6 for the second transition but sadly my success up until that point counted for little. I fell off my new bike in the changeover from cycle to run. That was when it started to fall apart for me. For the whole of the run I was feeling so sick my diaphragm hurt. I really struggled to run the final 5 km but crossed the finish line in 1hour and 30mins. I just wasn’t prepared enough for the final leg. I’m really disappointed because I was 20 minutes off the fastest time. So many people ran past me seemingly with ease I was gutted.

    Holiday in Ireland August 06

I went back to Ireland for a holiday this year, its been over 5 years since I was there last. We stayed in Co Tipp and spent lots of time visiting family and freinds.
Obviously I took my bicycle and was able to get out and enjoy the country. I met with a couple of guys from a cycle club based in Nenagh and they took me on a 50km route around the Silvermine mountains, Loch derg, Portroe, Newtown and Arra mountains. Fanastic. Some steep hills and very fast downhill sections.
I also cycled from Roscrea via Sinrone and Clocjordan to Nenagh. Very quiet roads (50km). The shortest ride was Nenagh to Borrisokane but still as good. It was soo nice to cycle and not feel threatened by other road users like cars, lorrys, tractors etc.
My photos from the holiday are in the albums but I havn't gotten round to sorting/labeling them yet...

    Ride reports

    Enfield Bike a thon.
     20 miles Local charity
good slow paced anual ride. Afternoon spent chasing busses.

    London to Oxford
60 miles in aid of CLIC Sargent
I got to the start later than I expected but I kept up with a couple of groups on racing bikes. It started off warm and by 1pm it was scorcingly hot.
I nearly hit a car after a steep downward hill, and stopped when anouther cyclist did hit the car i just missed. It could of been a Lambo or Zonda, but thats not important. The guy who went into the car's windscreen was ok just a bit shaken. I'm pretty sure he completed the ride.
40 mile mark reached at 1:30pm
The temps were over 30°C as I pased the Chiltern Hills
I kept my speed up for the last ten miles and I crossed the finish line at 4pm. Where I met 15 other cyclists also going back to near where I live. They had all started before me and I had finished before em. A fantastic day.

    London to Southend
60 miles in aid of British Heart Foundation.
Started the ride at 8am. The ride was fairly uneventfull. I saw fewer St john Ambulances than last weekend, a very good sign. The ride was fairly flat with only a few small hills. Two were in Rochford not far from the fininsh. I cycled with groups of both mountain and racing bikes throughout.
I stopped fewer times than the Oxford ride sticking to the organised stops. Rested no more than 20 mins at any point helped my time but so did the weather.
Forcast was 23°C sunny. It was windy, overcast and had a drizzles of rain.
Completed the ride in 5 hours excatly. Along with the usual bottle of water, apple and certificate I recived a medal. (see pic) That was a nice touch.
I spent the afternoon on the seafront enjoying the sun that came out at 1pm when I finished. Nice.

    June

    Well where to start.

I sang at the Royal Albert hall last month it was as awesome just like last year. But i was not in the mood to celebrate as i had to get back to Enfield for a friends wake. Rudi died on his motorcycle on his way home from work. The funeral was difficult and my prayers are with his family and partner Louise. He was a diamond geezer who will be remembered lovingly by all. Rudi rock n rest in peace dude.

My training was going well until the DSS screwed about with my income. There fuckup has left me skint for the last few weeks now, so am glad I’m working again but if this continues I feel I could easily slip back into old bad habits.

Before I had to suspend my membership to the gym I had completed the gym challenge a second time beating my time by 3 mins. You try Running 5 kilometers then Rowing 2 Kilometers and straight onto the exercise bike for a final 10 Kilometers. As quickly as possible. My best time was 52mins total. J That won me £30 in vouchers.

My mate Ralph had his graduate fashion show last night and it was great. The designs were lovely and I know how much effort he put into his work. After the show we headed to Leicester square for a couple of pints before going clubbing. We had a good night out in London before we both fell asleep on the wrong night bus home. A 30 min walk to the correct bus stop is not a good idea when the suns coming up and we were still drunk lol.

Well apart from all that life must continue, I donate blood again tomorrow,  my uncle is having a civil partnership service on Friday and I will be away this weekend for cub district/90 years camp.

Thanks to my Mum, Nan and Aunt for all your support in the last few weeks.

You have an Internet addiction when . . .

You have an Internet addiction when . . .

You kiss your girlfriend's home page.

A VRML virtual walk through a park is your idea of a good date.

Your bookmark takes 15 minutes to scroll from top to bottom.

Your eyeglasses have a web site burned in on them.

All your daydreaming is preoccupied with getting a faster connection to the net: 28.8...ISDN...cable modem...T1...T3.

And even your night dreams are in HTML.

You turn off your modem and get this awful empty feeling, like you just pulled the plug on a loved one.

You refer to going to the bathroom as downloading.

You start introducing yourself as "Jim at I-I-Net dot net dot au

Your heart races faster and beats irregularly each time you see a new WWW site address in print or on TV, even though you've never had heart problems before.

You step out of your room and realize that your parents have moved and you don't have a clue when it happened.

You turn on your intercom when leaving the room so you can hear if new e-mail arrives.

Your wife drapes a blond wig over your monitor to remind you of what she looks like.

All of your friends have an @ in their names.

When looking at a pageful of someone else's links, you notice all of them are already highlighted in purple.

Your dog has its own home page.

Your dog's homepage is actually good.

    You can't call your mother...she doesn't have a modem.

You check your mail. It says "no new messages." So you check it again.

Your phone bill comes to your doorstep in a box.

You code your homework in HTML and give your instructor the URL.

You don't know the sex of three of your closest friends, because they have neutral nicknames and you never bothered to ask.

Your husband tells you he's had the beard for 2 months.

You wake up at 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom and stop and check your e-mail on the way back to bed.

You tell the kids they can't use the computer because "Daddy's got work to do" and you don't even have a job.

You buy a Captain Kirk chair with a built-in keyboard and mouse.

Your wife makes a new rule: "The computer cannot come to bed."

You get a tatoo that says "This body best viewed with Netscape 2.01or higher."

You never have to deal with busy signals when calling your ISP...because you never log off.

The last girl you picked up was only a jpeg.

You ask a plumber how much it would cost to replace the chair in front of your computer with a toilet.

Your wife says communication is important in a marriage...so you buy another computer and install a second phone line so the two of you can chat.

As your car crashes through the guardrail on a mountain road, your first instinct is to search for the "back" button.

    turn your volume up!

    Class Participant of the month

One more rep! i am a gym junkie!

    Gym Junkie

No pain, no gain! From the weight room to the machine room, an independent exerciser like you would be best served by hitting the gym. To some the gym is torture. To you, it's likely to be a safe haven where you can do your thing and blow off steam from a stressful day or those extra calories from last night's decadent dinner.

The gym has everything to keep a go-getter like you going. Since you probably like doing your own thing, you can put on some headphones, and pedal, lift, or glide your way away from the rest of the world for a while. And if that doesn't get your pulse pounding, you can always take a class. Cheers to you! Keep it up!

People with similar results on What's Your Workout Style? also tend to score very well on the Classic IQ test.

    St Georges Day 2006

    Happy St Georges day.
    April, 2006

    A ride through time.

    I ride through time,
Stretching it out with surreal distortion,
    I ride for freedom,
I am immortal, freedom from the fear of death,
I push myself to the limit of my mortal frame,
    then transcend that human pain,
    enter into that fourth dimension.

My wheels no longer touch the ground,
    they’re floating on passionate effort,
    a whole hearted singleminded effort,
the rhythm of a perfect circle,
a pulsing rhythm that rises above the worlds woes.

    Movement brings freedom.

    Unfettered yet fitting in perfectly,
    unconventionaly conventional,
    an independant form of movement.

I know exactly how far I have traveled,
I can feel how far I have moved.

Allow the spirit of your surroundings feed your movement,
the harder I push the more I merge with my surroundings,
my aim is to reach that point of effortless movement,
turbo boosted blood pumping round my muscles,
my spirit is one with my body,
brain, muscles and spirit in total harmony,
    producing a pure singleminded effort,
human body, trees, mountains rivers, spirits and bike.

    A blog entry!!!!

This year is flying by, tis Aprill already if ya hadnt noticed. The days are getting longer and gardens are coming to life again.
I have a bad chesty cough at the moment and am on antibiotics because of my upcoming concert. Im still training for September, but I need to do more long distance cycling at the weekends. This is going to be hard cos ive got a new job. WOOOHOOO. ok its only part time but its helping pay for my Ireland trip if not covering the cost of my membership to the gym I attend.
I wont be able to donate blood this week  cos of the antibiotics. Thats the secound appointment this year ive missed ffs. If i can sing sat ill be a little happier.
We had our first cub camp of the year at well end campsite. (Borehamwood) The other Leaders have done archery and shooting courses so the cubs had the chance to shoot targets and fire off a few arrows. I prefered the archery cos it was alot harder than the shooting.
I had been doing fairly well with the no smoking untill I went to Butlins. I didnt take my nicotine patches. Thanks Sypher for letting me ponse rollups. I felt I needed em. I went for a run at sunrise each day. Was totally different to running here in enfield or at the gym because of the wind and sand.
The F1 Season has started again!  itv plz stop putting f***ing ads in the middle of a race. They wouldnt do it 10 mins into a football game ffs.  Button had an engine failure on the last lap but if he had crossed the finish line he would lose ten places in the next race due to the two race engine rule. Gutted, I was shouting at the tv. Schuy aint doing too well but apparently its his last season and he will have effectively a new car with many improvements for San Marino. Melbourne normally the first race of the season was awesome. Im still trying to get to grips with the new qualifying system.
     Oh and .....
